Reasons for recurrence of bacterial vaginosis

Reasons for recurrence of bacterial vaginosis

Among many female diseases, bacterial vaginosis is a more annoying one because it may stop for a while after treatment, but it is not so easy to cure. Because as time goes by, it is easy to recur. For women, this is really a torture. Because suffering from this disease, the whole body is naturally uncomfortable, so it is necessary to find a cure so that women will no longer be troubled by it.

Many women who suffer from bacterial vaginosis go to the hospital for treatment, and they do receive good results. However, women who suffer from this gynecological disease often still encounter the problem of repeated bacterial vaginosis after treatment, so we need to find out the reasons. One is the problem of personal hygiene. If you don't pay attention to the use of paper towels and hygienic or unhygienic conditions, it may lead to recurrence; the other is that the patient did not complete the treatment thoroughly, which led to the recurrence of the disease.

1. Smoking

There is sufficient scientific evidence that women who smoke are at a much higher risk of developing bacterial vaginosis than women who do not smoke. The chemical components in cigarettes reduce the number of lactic acid bacteria in the female vagina that have a balancing and protective effect, thus giving the pathogenic bacteria of bacterial vaginosis a chance to multiply and cause infection. Preventive measures: The most thorough solution is to quit smoking.

2: Intrauterine device

The risk of placing an intrauterine device is that a large number of bacteria may enter the uterus through the capillaries around the device, changing the bacterial balance in the uterus and vagina, and eventually leading to bacterial vaginitis. Preventive measures: About 1/3 of patients with bacterial vaginitis who have an intrauterine device will relapse within 6 months after recovery. If this happens, the doctor will ask you to take antifungal drugs or recommend you to choose other contraceptive methods.

3: Improper cleaning method

Researchers have found that if the daily cleaning method is not chosen properly, it may lead to a large reduction in the lactic acid bacteria that maintain the balance of the uterus and vaginal environment. Not only will it fail to promote health, but it will increase the incidence of gynecological diseases, especially bacterial vaginosis.

Precautions: Do not clean the vagina too frequently. It is normal for women to have a small amount of secretions in their private parts, and these secretions are not as dirty as we think. It is these secretions that maintain the pH balance in the vagina. If you are worried about the odor in your private parts, you can choose cotton underwear that is highly absorbent and breathable, and change and wash them frequently to keep your private parts dry.
