Postoperative care for Bartholinitis

Postoperative care for Bartholinitis

Bartholinitis is mainly caused by bacterial infection of the bartholin glands, which in turn causes poor drainage of the gland duct opening. Therefore, keeping the vulva clean is the main way to prevent infection. Washing the vulva every day, not wearing nylon underwear, and timely treatment of vulvitis can prevent the occurrence of bartholinitis to a certain extent. The following is an introduction to postoperative care for bartholinitis.

1. Preventive measures are introduced as follows:

1. Pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva and change underwear frequently. During the acute phase, you should stay in bed and pay attention to local cleaning. It is best to expose the perineum to the air when sleeping.

2. If you find any problem with your vulva, you must seek medical attention immediately and do not delay the treatment. Young women and children can use low-concentration potassium permanganate water to wash their genitals. Cysts usually develop from inflammation.

3. Be careful to avoid fishy foods such as tobacco, alcohol, fish, eggs, and irritating foods such as onions, garlic, and peppers.

4. Choose the right lotion when inflammation occurs. Lotion is a "weapon" favored by women to fight against vaginal inflammation. However, many women are blind when buying lotions. The application of lotions is very particular, especially the acidity and alkalinity of the lotion. For vulvovaginal candidiasis (i.e., candidal vaginitis), alkaline lotions should be used. For example, the lotion Jieryin, which is commonly used by everyone, is not suitable for this disease, and potassium permanganate solution (PP powder) is not suitable either. For trichomonas vaginitis, which manifests as local itching in the vagina and the appearance of thin, foamy leucorrhea, acidic lotions such as chlorhexidine acetate should be used. Jieryin lotion and potassium permanganate solution can be used. At the same time, vaginitis often requires the use of other drugs such as some suppositories and oral medications.

Warm reminder: Under normal circumstances, as long as you can receive professional treatment, it will basically not be complicated again. The reason for recurrence is basically due to improper treatment. For example, blindly using antibiotics for treatment can indeed have good therapeutic effects in the short term, but the recurrence rate is also very obvious.
