How long can a person with congenital bartholinitis live?

The main cause of Bartholinitis comes from sexual life. Congenital Bartholinitis is very rare. Even if you have congenital Bartholinitis, you don't have to worry too much. It is a common gynecological disease. If treated in time, it can usually be cured. The treatment of Bartholinitis requires symptomatic treatment. Although some antibiotics can relieve the symptoms of Bartholinitis, if used for a long time, it will not only fail to cure Bartholinitis, but may also aggravate the condition of Bartholinitis.

The Bartholin's glands are located at the back of the labia majora on both sides. The gland duct opens at the junction of the lower part of the inner side of the labia minora and the hymen. Due to the characteristics of the anatomical position, pathogens can easily invade and cause inflammation. During an acute inflammation attack, the pathogens first invade the gland duct, which presents acute suppurative inflammation. The gland duct opening is blocked by swelling or exudate, and pus cannot flow out and accumulates to form an abscess, which is called Bartholin's gland abscess.

Clinical manifestations: In acute inflammation, the patient feels pain, swelling, fever, and tenderness on one side of the vulva. When an abscess is formed, a sense of fluctuation can be felt, and the diameter can reach 5-6 cm. The whole body may have fever and other symptoms. When the pressure inside the abscess increases, it may rupture on its own. In the acute stage, patients should rest in bed, keep the area clean, apply cold compresses if the pain is severe, and use antibiotics for systemic treatment (such as sulfamethoxazole, penicillin, gentamicin, etc.). If an abscess has formed, it should be incised and drained in time.

How is acute Bartholinitis treated?

While using broad-spectrum antibiotics for anti-inflammatory treatment, you can choose to use Chinese herbal medicine decoctions that clear away heat, detoxify, reduce swelling and disperse knots, such as forsythia, honeysuckle, wild chrysanthemum, Viola yedoensis, Phellodendron, Scrophularia, Isatis root, etc., and take a sitz bath for 20 minutes each time when the liquid is cool, 1 to 2 times a day. After the abscess is formed, incision and drainage and ostomy should be performed in time. Simple drainage can only temporarily relieve symptoms. After the incision is closed, Bartholin gland abscesses or cysts may still form. If there is a small break and the pus is not discharged smoothly, the incision should be expanded for drainage.

Bartholinitis is generally acute. As long as it is cured in time, the occurrence of complications can be prevented. Female friends must face Bartholinitis correctly and use a positive attitude to face the troubles that Bartholinitis may bring to women, so as to keep Bartholinitis out of the door.
