What are the symptoms of Bartholinitis?

Bartholinitis is a common gynecological inflammation. Many women suffer from the disease, which seriously affects people's quality of life. So what are its clinical manifestations? Let us give you a detailed introduction below. I hope the following content can help you.

Inflammation usually occurs on one side, with local swelling, pain, burning sensation, and difficulty walking. During examination, local skin redness, swelling, fever, and obvious compression are found. If it is a Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, squeezing the local area may cause thin, light yellow pus to flow out.

When an abscess is formed, you can feel the fluctuation, and the diameter of the abscess can reach 5 to 6 cm. The patient will have systemic symptoms such as fever. The inguinal lymph nodes may increase in size to varying degrees. When the pressure inside the abscess increases, the abscess will burst on its own. If the hole is large, it can drain on its own, and the inflammation will subside quickly and heal. If the hole is small and the drainage is not smooth, the inflammation will continue to not subside, and acute attacks may recur.

If there is no secondary infection of the Bartholin's gland cyst, the patient may have no subjective symptoms or only feel a sense of heaviness and swelling in the vulva. Examination revealed a cyst in the lower 1/3 of the labia majora. The cysts vary in size, ranging from small ones as big as pigeon eggs, but rarely larger than chicken eggs. There is no tenderness, and the cysts are mostly unilateral.
