Cervical precancerous lesions are a word that scares people when they hear it. It's not that there is no medicine to cure it, but that we don't know what medicine to use to cure it. It can only be said that medicine is not developed enough. However, in recent years, more and more scientists are still committed to improving the treatment and prevention of cervical precancerous lesions, and studies have shown that almost 100% of cervical precancerous lesions can be prevented through a variety of preventive measures. 1: HPV testing Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical precancerous lesions, which are usually transmitted through sexual intercourse. Persistent infection may cause genital cancers, mainly cervical precancerous lesions. Therefore, women should pay attention to menstrual and sexual hygiene. We can use HPV tests to determine whether the cervix is infected with the virus and monitor it at any time. 2. Regular cervical smear tests Cervical smear, also known as cytology test, is the earliest traditional weapon used to prevent cervical precancerous lesions. It refers to taking a small amount of cell samples from the cervix, placing them on a glass slide, and then the doctor studies whether there are cervical cells with lesions under a microscope. If HPV and cytology tests are performed at the same time, the chances of detecting early cervical lesions can be increased. If both HPV and cytology results are normal, it indicates that the risk of cervical lesions occurring in the near future is very low, and the next check can be postponed for at least 3-5 years. 3: Gynecological acetic acid/iodine staining examination Women with a history of sexual intercourse should undergo regular gynecological examinations, which are important for early detection of cervical precancerous lesions. Gynecologists can determine whether there are suspicious lesions in the cervix by the color of acetic acid or Lugol's iodine solution applied to the cervix. 4: Cervical precancer vaccine The latest clinical research data released at the 25th International Papillomavirus Academic Conference that ended not long ago showed that the neutralizing protective antibodies and memory B cells produced by the Cervarix vaccine reached a new high. Neutralizing antibodies and memory B cells play an important role in protecting women from HPV virus infection and preventing the subsequent development of cervical precancerous lesions. At the same time, the world's longest clinical follow-up observation to date showed that 7.3 years after vaccination, the antibody level induced by Cervarix can still be very high, indicating that the vaccine's protection is long-term. |
