Does a woman's endometrial thickening mean she is pregnant?

During early pregnancy, due to the influence of elevated estrogen and progesterone in the body, the thickness of the endometrium will increase significantly, often by more than 10 mm. Thickening of the endometrium during pregnancy can protect the gestational sac. After menopause, if the blood HCG shows positive but the B-ultrasound can only indicate thickening of the endometrium and no gestational sac echo is seen inside or outside the uterus, this situation should be considered whether it is caused by the short early pregnancy period, depending on the actual time of menopause.

The B-ultrasound will show the echo of the gestational sac after 6-7 weeks of early pregnancy. You can check the B-ultrasound again one week later. If the menstrual period lasts for more than 7 weeks or is accompanied by vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, you should be alert to the possibility of threatened abortion, pregnancy arrest or ectopic pregnancy. Pay attention to pregnancy care, proper diet and nutrition, regular B-ultrasound and blood progesterone, blood HCG, combined with clinical symptoms for comprehensive diagnosis, and active fetal preservation treatment when necessary. Maintain a good attitude, get more rest, avoid sexual intercourse during early pregnancy, and avoid spicy and irritating foods.

The thickness of the endometrium changes with the menstrual cycle and is not constant. The normal thickness of the endometrium changes periodically and can be divided into three stages: proliferative stage: the 5th to 14th day of the menstrual cycle, during which the endometrium is thinner, only 1 to 5 mm; early secretory stage: the 15th to 19th day of the menstrual cycle. The normal thickness of the endometrium is about 5 to 6 mm; menstrual stage: the 1st to 4th day of the menstrual cycle, the normal thickness of the endometrium can reach 8-10 mm.

The thickness of the endometrium will change at different times of a woman's menstrual cycle, mainly due to the influence of hormone secretion at different times. If the endometrium is thin due to factors such as miscarriage, it will have a great impact on women's pregnancy. The most common causes are: endocrine disorders; damage to the endometrium caused by miscarriage and curettage; endometrial lesions. If menstruation is always irregular, ovulation will be abnormal, and the endometrium will be abnormal, making it difficult to get pregnant.
