Western medicine treatment plan for chocolate cysts

Western medicine treatment plan for chocolate cysts

Chocolate cysts are the most common type of endometriosis, accounting for about 50-70%. We all want to find the best treatment. In fact, it is not important whether there is the best treatment. What is important is to find the treatment that suits you best. Whether it is conservative treatment with drugs or surgical treatment, these two methods are not performed alone most of the time.

Western medicine treats chocolate cysts with medication. Doctors will prescribe medication in the following situations:

⊙ Exclude pain caused by other factors; ⊙ Need to be used before surgical treatment; ⊙ Have fertility requirements and need to preserve healthy ovarian tissue; ⊙ No symptoms;

Commonly used drugs:

1. Oral contraceptives play a therapeutic role by inducing false pregnancy.

2. Progestins include medroxyprogesterone acetate and nemetol, which inhibit the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin, resulting in a non-cyclical low estrogen state. They can also bind to progesterone and androgen receptors in cells, directly acting as anti-estrogen on ectopic lesions. A small amount of estrogen can also be added to form amenorrhea or pseudopregnancy, thus playing a therapeutic role.

3. Danazol inhibits mid-term FSH and LH peaks at the hypothalamus-pituitary level, reduces the basal level, and directly acts on the ovaries, inhibiting the ovarian steroid production ability, reducing the steroid level in the peripheral circulation, leading to atrophy of the eutopic and ectopic endometrium. It can also directly inhibit the proliferation of endometrial cells.

4. GnRHa can lead to a decrease in the secretion of FSH and LH, cessation of follicle development and amenorrhea, thus playing a therapeutic role.

5. Tamoxifen, also known as tamoxifen, works as an anti-estrogen.

5. Mifepristone has the effect of counteracting progesterone. After taking the medicine, it causes amenorrhea, atrophy of ectopic foci, and relieves pain.
