Can I get pregnant if I have cervical erosion for the second time?

Among gynecological diseases, there are many common problems, especially cervical erosion. If we find ourselves with symptoms similar to cervical erosion in life, we should go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid great harm. So, can we get pregnant after having cervical erosion for the second time?

Cervical erosion is a cervical disease that is common in women of childbearing age. It ranks first among gynecological outpatients and is the most common manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Cervical erosion used to be a disease that troubled many women. When you go for a physical examination, you will be diagnosed with cervical erosion in almost nine out of ten cases. Cervical erosion mainly refers to the erosion caused by epithelial shedding due to bacterial infection, which is related to endocrine changes in the body. Erosion is divided into congenital erosion and acquired erosion. Cervical erosion is not actually a true erosion. When the epidermis of the external cervical os is shed and replaced by another epithelial tissue at the cervical os, the new epithelium covering the surface is thin and even precious. You can see that the blood vessels and red tissue below look like real erosion, so it is called cervical erosion.

Cervical erosion mainly refers to the erosion caused by epithelial shedding due to bacterial infection, which is related to endocrine changes in the body. Erosion is divided into congenital erosion and acquired erosion. Women who have frequent sexual intercourse are more likely to be invaded by pathogenic microorganisms in the vagina and cervix, causing infection and producing a large amount of vaginal secretions, which soften and shed the squamous epithelium on the surface of the cervix, providing conditions for the columnar epithelium to occupy the territory, thus forming cervical erosion.

1. It can cause deep cervical lesions: Due to the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, it can cause deeper diseases such as polyps, lacerations, eversions and cysts. Once it is serious, it will be difficult to treat.

2. Infertility: The texture and amount of cervical mucus are directly related to whether sperm can pass through the cervix and enter the uterine cavity. When cervical erosion occurs, especially severe cases, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become thick, and contain a large number of white blood cells, which will have an adverse effect on sperm motility and prevent sperm from entering the uterine cavity, thus affecting conception.

3. Leading to cervical cancer: Women with cervical erosion have a significantly higher incidence of cervical cancer than those without cervical erosion. The incidence of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is 10 times higher than that of those without cervical erosion. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia may occur in the columnar epithelium derived from the proliferation of the cervical canal. If not treated in time, some of them will eventually develop into cancer. This is also the greatest harm of severe cervical erosion, but this development and transformation process is relatively slow.

4. Concurrent diseases: If cervical erosion is not treated in time or only some ineffective drugs are used, the inflammation of the cervix will not be cured for a long time, which will cause inflammation of other organs. For example, the pathogens of cervical erosion can cause cervical endometritis, which can spread through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels and cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

5. Cause dystocia: It can cause deeper lesions. Due to chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation, it can cause deeper diseases such as polyps, lacerations, ectropion and cysts. If there is cervical stenosis, it may even cause dystocia.

By studying the above article, we all know the specific knowledge of cervical erosion. Once the symptoms of erosion are found, we should go to the hospital for detailed examination and treatment. And everyone should also know that cervical erosion can cause infertility in the later stages, and even if you find that you have cervical erosion after pregnancy, you will suffer from dystocia. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone should have a detailed physical examination before marriage.
