There are 3 treatments for chronic adnexitis:

Chronic adnexitis refers to inflammation involving both fallopian tubes and ovaries. During the inflammation, the wall of the fallopian tube thickens and hardens, and there is inflammatory exudation in the mucosal layer. Adhesions may occur, causing the lumen to be blocked. If the fimbria and isthmus are adhered, the exudate will be in the lumen and form hydrosalpinx, or it may form pus in the fallopian tube first, and the pus will be absorbed over time and become hydrosalpinx. If the ovaries are affected at the same time and penetrate the fallopian tube, tubo-ovarian cysts or abscesses may form.

The treatment of chronic adnexitis is as follows:

1. Drug treatment: antibiotics, Chinese patent medicines such as Fule Chongji, Jingangteng Capsule, Fuyanning, Gongyanping, etc. When taking these drugs, you must continue to take them for at least 1 month.

2. Physical therapy: There are many physical therapy methods, such as laser, microwave, ion penetration, etc. Physical therapy can dissipate local edema, soften scars, promote intestinal peristalsis, promote blood circulation, and improve the local condition.

3. Surgical treatment: This can be considered if you have hydrosalpinx or ovarian cysts or if the above treatments are ineffective.

It is reminded that when treating adnexitis, the lower reproductive tract infection should also be actively treated, because vaginitis and cervicitis may cause the source of the disease to ascend. If a contraceptive ring has been placed, it can be considered to be removed.
