Why does suction occur during abortion?
Aspiration refers to the negative pressure aspiration of the non-pregnant uterus as if it were a pregnant uterus. Aspiration cannot be considered a complication of abortion. It is mainly caused by misdiagnosis, such as misdiagnosing pathological amenorrhea such as amenorrhea combined with uterine fibroids, uterine muscle fiber hyperplasia, ovarian cysts, menstrual disorders, short-term amenorrhea after taking contraceptives, and ectopic pregnancy as intrauterine pregnancy. In addition, special attention should be paid to the possibility of ectopic pregnancy when the aspirate is too little and only a small amount of decidual tissue is seen, but no chorionic tissue is seen. In this case, the aspirate must be sent for pathological examination, and attention should be paid to whether there are symptoms of acute abdomen at any time.

All patients who have undergone uterine aspiration should be followed up to avoid misdiagnosing missed aspiration as empty aspiration.
