Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vaginal mucosa and submucosal connective tissue. It is a common gynecological disease. The causes of vaginitis include bacterial infection, age, allergies, etc. The following are the main manifestations of 3 common vaginitis. 1. Allergic vaginitis Due to unreasonable vaginal care or improper treatment methods, the vaginal environment can be fragile and sensitive, which can lead to the occurrence of allergic vaginitis. After bathing in summer, some women like to sprinkle some perfume on the vulva. The chemical components contained in perfume are very irritating to the vulva and vaginal mucosa, which can easily cause vaginal allergic reactions; using some unqualified lotions during bathing can also easily cause allergic vaginitis. This type of vaginitis is characterized by vaginal itching, redness and swelling of the vaginal and vulvar mucosa, and increased vaginal discharge. 2. Trichomonas vaginitis The incubation period of trichomoniasis vaginitis is 4 to 28 days. The main symptoms of trichomoniasis vaginitis are small red particles or petechiae on the vaginal mucosa, increased vaginal pH, increased leucorrhea and vulvar itching. Leucorrhea may be thin and serous, grayish yellow or yellow-green, and about 20% of patients have foam in their leucorrhea. Gynecological examinations show that the vaginal and cervical mucosa are congested and edematous, with scattered red spots or strawberry-like protrusions, and a large amount of leucorrhea in the posterior fornix. 3. Gardnerella vaginitis Also known as Haemophilus vaginitis, it is an inflammation of the vaginal mucosa caused by Gardnerella, with the main symptoms of redness and swelling of the vulva, congestion of the vaginal mucosa, and thin, homogeneous vaginal discharge with a fishy odor. This type of vaginitis can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, so it is classified as a sexually transmitted disease. |
