Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy vary from patient to patient

Ectopic pregnancy is mainly divided into two types, namely acute ectopic pregnancy and chronic ectopic pregnancy. The symptoms of patients with different types of ectopic pregnancy are also very different.

1. Acute ectopic pregnancy

There are four main symptoms for patients with acute ectopic pregnancy, namely, amenorrhea for 6-8 weeks; tearing pain in the lower abdomen, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. If blood accumulates in the rectouterine pouch, the patient will also have a feeling of heaviness in the anus. If blood flows from the pelvic cavity to the abdominal cavity, the patient's pain symptoms spread from the lower abdomen to the entire abdomen. If the blood stimulates the diaphragm, the patient will have radiating shoulder pain; vaginal bleeding; syncope or even shock. The more bleeding and the faster the bleeding, the more severe the syncope and shock symptoms. This is mainly due to acute bleeding in the abdominal cavity leading to a decrease in blood volume and severe abdominal pain.

2. Chronic ectopic pregnancy

There are three main symptoms for patients with old ectopic pregnancy: irregular vaginal bleeding, which always recurs; paroxysmal abdominal pain. Due to the degeneration of the villi after the death of the embryo, the internal bleeding has basically stopped, so the abdominal pain symptoms of patients with old ectopic pregnancy are generally not severe; the appearance of adnexal masses is mainly due to the gradual ossification and hardening of the formed hematoma; fever, mostly accompanied by secondary infection, mainly caused by the hardening of the hematoma and the adhesion of the surrounding tissues and organs. The patient first has a low fever and then turns into a high fever.
