Before deciding to adopt any diet to lose weight, you can collect more information and understand your needs, rather than blindly following the crowd. In particular, the highest principle of a weight loss diet is that it should not be harmful to your health or even cause illness.

According to the British Mail Daily, nutritionist Shereen Lehman, co-author of the book "Superfoods for Dummies", selected 7 common dietary weight loss methods that are being practiced by many fans, and analyzed and ranked them. She rated each diet on a scale of 1 to 5, with the highest score being those consisting of a healthy balance of foods. The rankings from 1 to 7 are as follows:

1. Mediterranean Diet for Weight Loss:

The Mediterranean diet is highly recommended by nutritionists and is commonly consumed in the Mediterranean region and countries including Greece, southern Italy and Spain. The main features are large amounts of olive oil, legumes, natural grains, fruits and vegetables, moderate amounts of fish, dairy products (cheese and yogurt), as well as red wine and small amounts of meat products. Followers are encouraged to eat less red meat, sugar, and saturated fat. Dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt are allowed, but in moderation.

2.5:2 intermittent fasting for weight loss:

5:2 intermittent fasting, also known as the rapid weight loss method, is an intermittent fasting method originated in the UK. You are allowed to eat whatever you want 5 days a week and fast the other 2 days. A popular weight loss diet, the 5:2 diet involves 5 days of normal eating, followed by a 2,000-calorie diet per day. The remaining two days are calorie restricted, with women consuming about 500 calories per day and men 600 calories on fasting days.

Use two days of small-intake meals to balance your total calorie intake for the week and reduce the chance of overindulging your appetite, while practicing low-calorie food choices and portion counting on intermittent fasting days. While fasting may wreak havoc on your energy levels, it can give your digestive tract a rest, Lehman says.

3. Juice cleanse diet to lose weight:

A juice cleanse diet involves drinking only freshly squeezed juice and no solid food. A juice cleanse diet involves drinking freshly squeezed fruits and vegetables for a period of several days to several weeks. All solid food and alcohol are to be avoided.

Lehman said that it is good to consume more fruits and vegetables on a regular basis, but if you consume too much fruit, it will be high in sugar. It may cause physical burden. Good eating habits must be followed by a healthy, balanced diet, and a juice cleanse is a great way to start losing weight.

4. Paleo

The Paleolithic diet promotes foods that humans ate in the early, Paleolithic era. This diet encourages eating grass-fed meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and eggs. Grains, dairy, and processed foods are discouraged.

Lehman said the diet includes a lot of clean foods, but lacks some nutrients, including calcium and vitamin D, so it is not balanced. If you want to follow this diet, it's best to choose healthy, fatty fish and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially dark leafy greens which are rich in calcium.

5. Alkaline food for weight loss:

The alkaline diet, a weight loss method favored by European and American artists, attempts to prevent disease by maintaining the body's acid-base balance. The emphasis is on no meat, no eggs, no wheat, and no milk, and only a diet of large amounts of fruits and vegetables to maintain the pH balance of the blood, thereby curing diseases and reducing weight.

The alkaline diet weight loss method is like a vegetarian diet. The only dietary items include fresh fruits and vegetables. Milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts that may induce allergies are strictly prohibited. In addition, the intake of salt, sugar, caffeine and alcohol is strictly controlled. Studies have also found that long-term intake of fruits and vegetables rich in dietary fiber can not only help you lose weight but also make your body healthier. But this is by no means the result of isolating acidic foods, but rather the result of the vitamins, minerals and natural pigments that are rich in fruits and vegetables.

6. Dukan Diet:

This diet was created by French nutritionist Pierre Dukan in the 1970s and consists of 4 stages of weight loss. Allowing 100 foods, Stage 4 is a lifelong commitment. Here are the 4 stages:

1. Attack Phase: Consists of pure protein, creating a starter diet. During this phase, you can eat 68 kinds of high-protein foods, which are said to have an immediate weight loss effect.

2. Cruising phase: Adding vegetables will be your way to true weight. You can choose from 100 kinds of natural foods, and lose an average of 1 pound every 3 days during this stage.

3. Consolidation phase: is the most vulnerable time, when the body tends to regain weight quickly. During this phase, previously forbidden foods should be gradually reintroduced, in limited quantities to prevent rebound, and two celebratory meals per week are allowed. On average, I lost 1 pound every 5 days.

4. Stability stage: It is a lifelong stage, following 3 unconditional rules, you can eat freely and healthily, 3 spoons of oat bran a day, take a 20-minute walk every day, or choose to climb stairs.

The idea behind an alkaline diet is that certain foods can affect the acidity and pH levels of body fluids, including blood and urine, and therefore can be used to treat or prevent disease. Maintaining a pH between 7.35 and 7.45 is thought to improve memory, increase energy levels, reduce muscle pain, and prevent headaches and bloating. Benefits include increased food and vegetable intake, and the inclusion of nuts and legumes is permitted.

7. Blood type diet for weight loss:

The Blood Type Diet suggests individualized eating habits based on different blood types, claiming to be the most personalized diet available, based on the assumption that different blood types react chemically to foods differently.

Type O: high protein, lean meat, fish, and vegetables.

Type A: Fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains.

Type B: green vegetables, eggs, meat, dairy products.

Type AB: tofu, seafood, dairy products, green vegetables.

Although all of the above blood type diets encourage the intake of healthy, natural foods without added sugar or fat, there is no scientific support. Lehman said the blood type diet is an interesting hypothesis, but there is no evidence that it works, so it would not be recommended.
