Who is susceptible to adnexitis?

Who is susceptible to adnexitis?

The occurrence of adnexitis is mostly related to bacterial infection, and the following groups have a higher incidence rate.

1. Women after childbirth or miscarriage

Childbirth or miscarriage can greatly reduce women's resistance, providing an opportunity for the growth and reproduction of pathogens. If pathogens spread from the reproductive tract to the fallopian tubes and ovaries, it will induce adnexitis.

2. Women who have undergone intrauterine sterilization surgery

Intrauterine contraceptive surgery is a common cause of adnexitis in women. If the surgical procedure is not strict or the patient does not pay attention to personal hygiene after the operation, adnexitis may occur.

3. Women with a history of gynecological surgery

Various uterine cavity surgeries, such as vacuum extraction, obstetric surgery, cervical canal treatment surgery, etc., can induce adnexitis if they are not properly operated or disinfected. Therefore, when women need surgery for various gynecological diseases, they should choose a regular hospital for professional treatment, and strengthen anti-infection, careful care, and hygiene after surgery to prevent the occurrence of adnexitis.

4. Women with appendicitis

The ovaries and fallopian tubes are adjacent to the appendix. If the appendix becomes inflamed, it is likely to spread directly to the fallopian tubes or ovaries, causing adnexitis.

5. Women who do not pay attention to menstrual protection

Many women do not pay attention to menstrual hygiene and even have sexual intercourse during menstruation, which is a major cause of adnexitis.
