Uterine fibroids are a common benign tumor of the female reproductive system and are mainly divided into the following two types. 1. Intramural fibroids Uterine intramural fibroids all start from the uterine myometrium, are often multiple, with an indefinite number, and are distributed throughout the uterine wall in irregular masses. Generally speaking, this type of fibroid has good blood circulation, and the tumor itself rarely degenerates, but it can easily cause severe deformation or enlargement of the uterine body, affecting the uterine contraction function and increasing the area of the endometrium. The main symptoms of patients are irregular menstruation, such as excessive menstrual flow, too frequent menstruation, and prolonged menstrual duration. 2. Submucosal fibroids During the process of growth and development, uterine fibroids often develop in the direction of less resistance. If they suddenly move to the back of the uterine cavity, the surface is covered with only a layer of endometrium, forming a submucosal fibroid, or even only one pedicle connected to the uterus, which can easily cause uterine contraction and be squeezed down. The tumor pedicle is also stretched. When it reaches a certain size, the fibroid will prolapse through the cervical canal into the vagina, and even protrude from the vulva. Severe cases can cause varying degrees of uterine inversion. Since the blood circulation function of the tumor pedicle is poor and it often extends into the vagina, it is easy to cause infection, necrosis or bleeding. Once the tumor pedicle is twisted, it will cause necrosis and detachment, causing the fibroid to fall into the abdominal cavity and attach to organs and tissues such as the greater omentum or mesentery, regaining blood nutrition and developing into a parasitic fibroid. Regular check-ups should be conducted to prevent complications such as ascites. |
