The dangers of bacterial vaginosis

The dangers of bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis is caused by a mixed infection of vaginal Gardnerella and oxytoca. It can be transmitted through sexual contact and has a higher incidence among people with promiscuous sexual relationships. The hazards of bacterial vaginosis are as follows:

Causes infertility

Bacterial vaginosis can cause the pH value of the vagina to exceed 4.5, which inhibits the activity of sperm; pathogenic bacteria will devour sperm, and when suffering from bacterial vaginitis, the vaginal secretions will increase significantly, and the secretions contain a large number of white blood cells, all of which will hinder the survival of sperm, reduce the number of sperm, and cause infertility.

Affects fetal development

Bacterial vaginosis can cause fetal movement disturbance during pregnancy, and in severe cases, premature birth and miscarriage. It is reported that the percentage of pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis who develop puerperal infection, neonatal infection, and neonatal jaundice is greatly increased, several times higher than that of normal pregnant women. In addition, clinical observations have shown that bacterial vaginosis is directly related to premature rupture of membranes and intrauterine infection.

Induce other diseases

Bacterial vaginitis can induce genital infection. Once the inflammation ascends and infects the uterine cavity, it can cause salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., and can also cause infertility.

Impact on quality of life

The clinical symptoms of bacterial vaginitis are a significant increase in abnormal vaginal secretions, which are thin, homogeneous or thin, and are grayish white, grayish yellow or creamy yellow with a special fishy odor. Since alkaline prostatic fluid can cause the release of amines, the odor worsens during or after sexual intercourse. During menstruation, the pH value of the vagina increases, and the odor may also worsen. In addition, symptoms such as vulvar itching can cause many inconveniences to women's lives and work, and even affect the couple's life.
