Medical abortion refers to the use of injections or medication to achieve artificial abortion in the early stages of pregnancy without surgery. Currently, the more mature and commonly used method in clinical practice is the combination of mifepristone and prostaglandin. However, after taking the medicine, the patient's various indicators should be carefully observed. The main observation items are as follows: 1. Vaginal bleeding After taking mifepristone, the patient's vaginal bleeding time and amount should be observed. If the vaginal bleeding is excessive or there is tissue discharge, the patient should communicate with the doctor in time. 2. Whether adverse reactions occur After using prostaglandins, the patient needs to stay in the hospital for observation. The main observation contents include blood pressure, pulse, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vaginal bleeding and fetal sac expulsion, etc. If the patient has obvious adverse reactions, relevant treatment measures should be taken in time. 3. Expulsion of fetal sac After the gestational sac is expelled, medical staff should carefully check the discharge, and the patient should leave the hospital after 1 hour of observation. Before leaving the hospital, the patient should measure blood pressure and pulse, strictly follow the doctor's instructions after leaving, and have regular follow-up examinations; if the patient's gestational sac is not expelled, generally leave after 6 hours, and make an appointment for a follow-up ultrasound examination 1 week later to check the situation in the uterine cavity. If medical abortion fails, negative pressure aspiration is required; all patients should be re-examined after 2 weeks. If the patient has excessive vaginal bleeding, relevant examinations should be performed. If it is determined that the abortion is incomplete, a tissue pathology examination should be performed after curettage as appropriate. |
