Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vaginal mucosa and submucosal connective tissue. Women may develop the following six types of vaginitis at different stages: Vaginitis in infants and young children The mother and childcare staff of the child do not pay attention to the cleanliness of the child's vulva, do not handle the stool properly, or wipe the anus with contaminated paper, so that intestinal bacteria invade the vagina and cause vaginitis. Purulent secretions can be seen at the vaginal opening, the vulva and urethral opening mucosa are congested and edematous, and purulent secretions flow out of the vaginal opening. Menarche vaginitis When adolescent girls have their first menstruation, they do not understand or pay attention to menstrual hygiene, which causes unclean perineum and vaginitis. The main symptoms of vaginitis during menarche are a feeling of falling and burning in the perineum, increased vaginal discharge, and even purulent and thick discharge. Menstrual vaginitis It is usually caused by not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation, especially using unclean menstrual products, which causes the vulva to be contaminated by unclean things. It manifests as a feeling of falling and burning in the perineum, and increased vaginal discharge. Honeymoon vaginitis It is more common in newly married women, mainly due to not paying attention to the hygiene of sexual organs and sexual life. It manifests as increased leucorrhea, itching and pain inside and outside the vagina, and redness and swelling of the mucosa. Vaginitis during pregnancy Due to changes in hormone levels during pregnancy, the pH value of the vagina is likely to change accordingly, the vaginal sugar content increases, and the body's resistance decreases during pregnancy, making it easy to get vaginal diseases, with candidal vaginitis being the most common. Senile vaginitis Senile vaginitis is common in postmenopausal women. Due to the decline of ovarian function, the level of estrogen decreases, and the local resistance decreases, pathogenic bacteria easily invade and multiply, causing inflammation. The main symptom is an increase in leucorrhea, which is mostly yellow watery. In severe cases, it may be purulent, have a foul odor, and sometimes be light bloody, and even cause a small amount of vaginal bleeding. |
