Three major misunderstandings about dysmenorrhea

Three major misunderstandings about dysmenorrhea

Regarding the dysmenorrhea problem that women often encounter, people often have the following misunderstandings:

One misconception: taking medicine based on experience.

The causes of dysmenorrhea are very complicated. Whether it is primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea, medication should be used under the guidance of a doctor. Secondary dysmenorrhea is especially caused by different reproductive organ diseases. Improper medication can cause great harm. Even if dysmenorrhea is caused by the same reproductive organ disease, there are different causes, and there may be great differences in the type and dosage of medication, so it cannot be generalized.

Myth 2: Dysmenorrhea will heal automatically.

Many female friends have experienced primary dysmenorrhea, but it naturally improved or even disappeared after marriage. Therefore, when they experience dysmenorrhea again, they think it is not a big deal and will naturally get better after a while. In fact, primary dysmenorrhea has no organic lesions, and most of them may get better and disappear on their own. Secondary dysmenorrhea usually occurs after marriage and has obvious organic lesions. If the primary disease is not treated, dysmenorrhea will not only not get better, but will gradually worsen and even cause serious complications.

Misconception 3: Removing diseased organs will solve the problem once and for all.

Some women with intractable diseases such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, and pelvic congestion syndrome want to undergo surgery to remove the diseased organs because of severe or prolonged dysmenorrhea, thinking that this will solve the problem once and for all. However, it should be noted that every organ in the human body has its role, and reproductive organs in particular have their own irreplaceable functions. If they are removed too early, it may bring some hidden problems.
