The doctor told Xiaoqing that the ovarian cysts might have been caused by commonly used contraceptives.

Emergency contraception refers to a contraceptive method used to prevent pregnancy within a period of time after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. Taking emergency contraceptive pills is the most commonly used method. However, it should be noted that the dosage of emergency contraceptive pills once is equivalent to the dosage of regular contraceptive pills for 8 days. It cannot be reused in a short period of time and generally should not be used more than 2 to 3 times a year. Taking emergency contraceptive pills multiple times can cause great harm to the body, such as endocrine disorders, menstrual disorders, and can also induce ovarian cysts and even lead to female infertility.
