CO2 laser therapy cures stubborn vulvar leukoplakia

Bobo has been suffering from vulvar leukoplakia for 4 or 5 years. She has been seeking treatment everywhere and tried all kinds of treatments. She has taken a lot of medicine and suffered a lot, but she gave up halfway because she could not persist in the treatment. As a result, the treatment effect has not been good and the condition has always recurred. Vulvar itching always bothers her. The area of vulvar leukoplakia is getting bigger and bigger, and the vulva is shrinking more and more seriously. As a result, she has become frigid and lost confidence in treatment. Recently, her condition has worsened again and she has to come to the hospital for treatment again. After learning about her situation, the doctor suggested that she be hospitalized for CO2 laser treatment and arranged surgery for her as soon as possible. After the operation, burn ointment was applied to the wound surface and the dressing was changed every other day. Because her burn area was large, she continued to use broad-spectrum antibiotics for one week after the operation to prevent infection, and local disinfection of the vulva was given every day. After 2 weeks, her wound healed and she was discharged from the hospital.

In recent years, medical laser technology has been more and more widely used in the fields of laser treatment and laser beauty. CO2 laser treatment of vulvar leukoplakia can achieve satisfactory results, with advantages such as good efficacy, no infection, no scars, and no recurrence. This method is often performed one week after the patient's menstruation is over. The patient takes the lithotomy position, the vulva is routinely disinfected, and 1% lidocaine is used for local anesthesia. A 10.6μm wavelength CO2 laser is used to burn and gasify the leukoplakia lesions. The burning depth is 2 to 3mm until normal tissue is exposed. The CO2 laser beam can also be used for point burning, and holes are punched in the leukoplakia lesions with a spacing of 5mm and a depth of 2 to 3mm. For patients with severe conditions and large lesion areas, staged treatment can be used.
