What should I do if adolescent girls have amenorrhea?

If a girl over 18 years old has not had her period, or an unmarried young woman has had normal menstruation but has stopped for more than 3 months, it is called amenorrhea. There are many causes of amenorrhea in adolescence, the most common of which include: diseases, such as severe tuberculosis, severe anemia, malnutrition, etc.; atresia of the lower part of the reproductive tract; imperfect or stunted reproductive organs; tuberculous endometritis; abnormal pituitary or hypothalamic function, etc.

If you find amenorrhea, you should go to the hospital in time to find out the cause and treat it symptomatically, which will generally produce satisfactory results. If you hide your illness and avoid seeing a doctor, the longer the amenorrhea lasts, the more the uterus will shrink, and the worse the treatment effect will be. Whether amenorrhea in adolescent women can be cured depends on the cause of amenorrhea. For example, secondary amenorrhea in adolescence is mostly caused by environmental changes, mood swings and weight changes. After removing these causes, menstruation can gradually recover. A few cases of amenorrhea caused by illness, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, abnormal thyroid function, tuberculosis, etc., can also restore menstruation after treatment. However, some amenorrhea cannot be cured, such as amenorrhea caused by being born without a uterus, a uterus that is too small, or the endometrium has been damaged by lesions. It cannot be cured. No matter what the case of amenorrhea is, it must be checked clearly. Even for incurable amenorrhea, it must be checked clearly to determine how it will affect the future.
