Experts briefly analyze the causes of secondary dysmenorrhea

Although the number of patients with secondary dysmenorrhea is not large, the harm that secondary dysmenorrhea brings to women's health cannot be underestimated. What are the common causes of secondary dysmenorrhea ? Here are some common causes of secondary dysmenorrhea.

In general, the common causes of secondary dysmenorrhea are:

(I) Pelvic endometriosis

Secondary dysmenorrhea is the main symptom of endometriosis. The ectopic endometrial tissue in the ovaries, uterine cuboid ligaments, uterine rectal fossa, and pelvic peritoneum also undergoes periodic changes during the menstrual cycle under the influence of ovarian hormones. This is a common cause of secondary dysmenorrhea.

(ii) Adenomyosis

Dysmenorrhea is a benign disease caused by the invasion of the endometrium into the myometrium. It is one of the typical symptoms of secondary dysmenorrhea. There may also be increased menstrual flow or prolonged menstruation. Gynecological examination shows that the uterus is uniformly enlarged and spherical, with a hard texture, generally about the size of a 2-month pregnancy, and may be slightly tender.

(III) Uterine fibroids

Secondary dysmenorrhea is not the main symptom of uterine fibroids, but submucosal fibroids can cause spasmodic pain during menstruation due to stimulation of uterine contraction. Secondary dysmenorrhea patients are often accompanied by menorrhagia, prolonged menstruation or irregular vaginal bleeding. Pelvic examination can reveal that the uterus is enlarged to varying degrees, with a smooth surface or nodular protrusions. This is also a cause of secondary dysmenorrhea.

The above is an introduction to the common causes of secondary dysmenorrhea. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once you suffer from secondary dysmenorrhea, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid serious delays in the condition.
