Several common and effective methods for treating dysmenorrhea

Although dysmenorrhea is a very common disease, female friends should never ignore the treatment of dysmenorrhea. What are the treatments for dysmenorrhea ? Here are some common treatments for dysmenorrhea.

In general, common treatments for dysmenorrhea include:

1. Massage: First, use your thumb to press the navel, Qihai, Guanyuan, Zhongji, Guilai, and Sanyinjiao, each for half a minute. Then lie on your back and use your right palm to massage the lower abdomen (below the navel) for about 3 minutes, and then push and rub from the navel to the pubic symphysis (the high bone in front of the genitals) for 30 minutes. This is a very simple method for treating dysmenorrhea. It requires self-massage to start one week before menstruation, once a day, and end three days after menstruation.

2. Moxibustion:

(1) Select Guanyuan, Qihai, Qugu, Wailing, and Sanyinjiao acupoints. Perform the treatment according to the moxa roll gentle moxibustion method, select 3 acupoints each time, and moxibustion each acupoint for about 20 minutes. Continue the treatment for 4 days to achieve the purpose of treating dysmenorrhea. For those with severe low back pain, add moxibustion on Shenshu. 4 times is a course of treatment, with a 4-day interval between treatments. It is suitable for dysmenorrhea, and moxibustion is generally performed 2 days before the onset of menstruation.

(2) Take the Shenque and Gongyu points. Apply moxibustion according to the conventional moxibustion method. Take Sichuan Achyranthes bidentata, frankincense, myrrh, white peony root, salvia miltiorrhiza, safflower, mountain ash, and magnolia officinalis. Grind the above medicines into fine powder, add borneol, mix and store in a bottle for later use. When applying moxibustion, take the above medicines each time, mix them with ginger juice (or rice wine) to form a paste, apply them to the Shenque and Gongyu points respectively, cover with gauze (or oil paper), and fix with adhesive tape. Change the medicine every 2 days. Moxibustion should be applied 3 days before menstruation (or during menstruation). It is very effective in treating dysmenorrhea.

3. Scraping: mainly scraping, Dazhui, Jianjing, Dazhui, Gaomang, and scraping Guanyuan to Zhongji, Diji to Sanyinjiao, 5 times. In case of liver depression, scrape Taichong meridian points, and in case of Qi and blood deficiency, scrape Zusanli and Mingmen meridian points. Scrape Zusanli and Mingmen meridian points lightly for 3 minutes; scrape other acupoints heavily for 3 to 5 minutes. This is also a common treatment for dysmenorrhea.
