How are uterine fibroids classified?

Compared with a decade ago, uterine fibroids are increasingly common in middle-aged women in their thirties and forties, especially those who are childless, have sexual dysfunction, and are depressed. According to the different parts of the uterus where the fibroids are located, they can be classified. What are the classifications of uterine fibroids?

1. Classification of uterine fibroids: Intramural fibroids. Fibroids are located within the muscular wall and are surrounded by the muscular layer. This type of fibroid is the most common when the disease first occurs, so it accounts for about 60-70%.

2. Classification of uterine fibroids: Subserous fibroids Intramural fibroids develop toward the serosa and protrude from the surface of the uterus, directly contacting the serosa, accounting for about 20%. If they protrude between the two leaves of the broad ligament, they are intra-broad ligament fibroids.

3. Classification of uterine fibroids: Submucosal fibroids and intramural fibroids grow into the uterine cavity, protrude from the uterine cavity, and are in direct contact with the mucosal layer, accounting for about 10%-15%. This tumor can gradually enlarge and deform the uterine cavity, and often has a pedicle connected to the uterus. If the pedicle is long, it can block the cervical opening or prolapse into the vagina.

4. Classification of cervical fibroids: It is rare. Fibroids grow in the cervix of the uterus. Due to their low growth location, they can be embedded in the pelvic cavity, causing compression symptoms. Surgical removal is difficult and can easily damage the ureter and bladder.

The above is the classification of uterine fibroids. I hope patients will pay more attention to their bodies. We should pay more attention to prevention in daily life and actively take treatment methods to avoid its occurrence. The above content is for reference only.
