Traditionally, cervical smears are generally used to screen for cervical diseases, but cervical smears are limited by many objective conditions, and the false positive rate of a single smear is high. Therefore, screening for cervical disease with cervical smears alone requires three or more consecutive negative test results to be confirmed. However, if an experienced doctor performs a colposcopy, a single examination can confirm whether there is cervical hypertrophy with more than 95% accuracy. Colposcope is a magnifying glass with a strong light source. Since colposcope can magnify the lesion 10 to 40 times, it can observe the slight lesions of the cervical epidermis that are invisible to the naked eye. With the help of 3% to 5% acetic acid solution, it can distinguish whether the changes in cervical cells are benign or malignant; biopsy under colposcope positioning can improve the positive detection rate and assist clinical early detection of precancerous and cancerous changes. If cytological analysis is used, combined with colposcopy and biopsy under the microscope, and endocervical scraping when necessary, the diagnostic accuracy of precancerous lesions and early invasive cancer is greatly improved. Therefore, the combination of cervical smear and colposcopy can greatly improve the diagnosis probability of cervical hypertrophy and is an important measure for the early treatment of cervical diseases and other reproductive tract diseases. |
