Cervical hypertrophy can be checked by vaginal ultrasound

Cervical hypertrophy can be diagnosed by vaginal ultrasound, which is a safe and non-invasive examination method. Cervical hypertrophy may be caused by chronic inflammation, changes in hormone levels, childbirth injuries, etc. Treatments include medication, physical therapy and surgical intervention.

1. Common causes of cervical hypertrophy

Chronic cervicitis is one of the main causes of cervical hypertrophy. Long-term inflammation leads to cervical tissue hyperplasia. Abnormal hormone levels, especially high estrogen levels, may cause cervical gland hyperplasia and hypertrophy. Multiple births or miscarriages may cause cervical damage, which in turn causes tissue hyperplasia. Cervical cysts or polyps may also be accompanied by hypertrophy.

2. Advantages of vaginal ultrasound examination

Vaginal ultrasound is a high-resolution imaging method that can clearly show the shape, size and internal structure of the cervix. Compared with abdominal ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound does not require holding urine, the examination process is faster and the results are more accurate. Through vaginal ultrasound, doctors can determine the degree of cervical hypertrophy and rule out other lesions such as cervical cysts, polyps or tumors.

3. Treatment of cervical hypertrophy

Drug therapy is suitable for mild cervical hypertrophy. Commonly used drugs include antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and hormonal drugs, such as cephalosporin antibiotics, ibuprofen and estrogen-progesterone preparations. Physical therapy is suitable for moderate hypertrophy. Commonly used methods include laser therapy, cryotherapy and microwave therapy, which can effectively reduce the size of the cervix. For severe hypertrophy or accompanied by other lesions, surgical intervention may be required, such as cervical conization, cervical loop electrosurgical excision procedure or hysterectomy.

4. Daily care and prevention

Keeping the vulva clean and avoiding the use of irritating washes can help prevent cervical inflammation. Regular gynecological examinations, especially cervical cytology and HPV testing, can detect cervical lesions early. Avoiding frequent miscarriages and multiple deliveries can reduce the risk of cervical injury. Eating more foods rich in vitamins and antioxidants, such as fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts, can help enhance immunity.

Although cervical hypertrophy is common, it can be clearly diagnosed through transvaginal ultrasound, and medication, physical therapy or surgical intervention can be selected according to the specific situation. Paying attention to prevention and care in daily life can effectively reduce the risk of cervical hypertrophy. If there are abnormal symptoms, you should seek medical attention in time to avoid delaying treatment.
