Are uterine cysts and polyps contagious?

Uterine cysts and polyps are not contagious. They are non-infectious gynecological diseases and have nothing to do with the transmission of viruses, bacteria, etc.

Uterine cysts refer to fluid cystic structures that appear in or around the uterus, often caused by changes in hormone levels or chronic inflammation. Uterine polyps, on the other hand, are benign proliferations that occur in the endometrium or cervix, usually associated with hormone imbalances and multiple inflammatory stimuli in the body. Both of these conditions are abnormal proliferations of one's own tissues and will not be transmitted to others through contact, air, food, etc. It should be made clear that they are not infectious diseases.

Although not contagious, these problems may affect women's health, such as causing menstrual abnormalities, lower abdominal pain, or infertility. If the symptoms are mild, the doctor may recommend regular observation and follow-up; if the polyps are large or the cysts cause obvious discomfort or even risk of malignant transformation, surgery may be required.

Develop a regular work and rest schedule, pay attention to a balanced diet, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed foods. At the same time, keep the vulva clean, and regular gynecological examinations are important means of prevention and early detection. If you find abnormal bleeding, persistent pain or other discomfort in your lower body, you should seek medical attention in time and receive targeted treatment after a clear diagnosis.
