How to use a menstrual cup

Menstrual cups are an environmentally friendly and economical menstrual product. Compared with traditional sanitary napkins and tampons, their use may be a little tricky for beginners. In fact, once you master the skills, the use of menstrual cups will become very simple. Menstrual cups are soft silicone or rubber cups designed to be placed in the vagina to collect menstrual blood. To better understand how to use them, we can think of it as a small funnel. Although it looks a bit novel, its design is completely ergonomic.

Before using a menstrual cup, it is important to keep your hands and the cup clean. You can wash the menstrual cup with mild soap and water to ensure that there is no residual chemical residue. Next, find a comfortable position, such as sitting on the toilet, squatting, or raising one leg. Then, fold the menstrual cup in half into a "C" or "U" shape, which makes it easier to insert into the vagina. Relax your body and gently push the folded menstrual cup into the vagina until the bottom of the cup is fully inserted. After letting go, the menstrual cup will expand inside the vagina, forming a slight vacuum seal to prevent leakage.

Many people may worry that menstrual cups will be uncomfortable or leak, but in fact, as long as they are inserted and adjusted correctly, menstrual cups are very comfortable and can hardly be felt. To ensure that the menstrual cup is fully open, you can gently twist or pull on the base of the cup, which can help form a better seal. Everyone's body structure is different, so finding the insertion and adjustment method that works for you may take some time and practice.

When you need to remove the menstrual cup, first relax your body and find a comfortable position. Gently pinch the bottom of the cup with your fingers to release the vacuum, and then slowly pull it out. After pouring out the menstrual blood in the cup, wash it with water and soap and insert it again. Generally, the menstrual cup should be replaced every 4 to 12 hours, depending on the individual's menstrual flow.

The use of menstrual cups is not only environmentally friendly, but also saves money in the long run. More importantly, it allows women to enjoy greater freedom and comfort during their menstrual period. Although it may take some getting used to at first, once you master the skills, the menstrual cup will become a good partner during your menstrual period. I hope this article can help those who are curious or hesitant about menstrual cups. It always takes courage to try new things, but the rewards are often beyond imagination.
