Moreover, if improvers or wheat gluten are not added, the whole wheat bread will be hard and difficult to eat.

The ideal starch intake should account for about one-sixth of each meal, and the remaining portion should be filled with protein.

The reason why we need to reduce starch intake is that if we eat too much starch, especially refined starch, such as Western bread, Chinese buns, dumplings, sesame seed cakes and fried dough sticks, which are all very easy to digest foods, it will also cause blood sugar to rise quickly. Once the blood sugar concentration rises, the pancreas will secrete insulin, prompting sugar to enter the cells to be consumed, or stored as fat, and weight control will be difficult.
