Liu Leyan lost weight by eating fairy food! Experts: Insufficient starch can lead to weight gain

Liu Leyan (Fanny), the former leader of the girl group "Female F4", announced on her personal Facebook that she is 169.3 cm tall, weighs 51.6 kg, and has a body mass index (BMI) of only 18, and was accused of being "too thin." When answering netizens' questions on Facebook about "how to lose weight", Liu Leyan said that she mostly only eats "fairy food", such as water, vegetables, fruits, milk, boiled eggs, etc., and tries not to eat "mortal food" such as rice, noodles, fried chicken, etc., which will make her feel full. Physicians and nutrition experts remind you that if you don’t consume enough starch, it will be detrimental to your weight loss!

Liu Leyan eats fairy food and stays away from mortal food to help lose weight

Artist Liu Leyan's weight loss by eating "fairy food" has aroused the curiosity of many netizens. She pointed out on Facebook: "What is the food that fairies eat? Sunshine, air, flowers and water, vitamins, collagen, Q10, iron, and so on. There are also salads, sashimi, all-you-can-eat fruits of all kinds, all-you-can-eat vegetable sticks, milk, boiled eggs, cheese, chicken breast, and all kinds of folk remedies for diarrhea... The rest are just things you smell and see. This is what I usually eat." As for the food that mortals eat, Liu Leyan said: "Rice, noodles, pizza, bread, fried chicken, rice noodles, bento, cakes, buns, everything, everything that makes you full! It's called mortal food. I rarely eat it now."

Is diarrhea useful for weight loss? No body fat loss

Liu Leyan also revealed that she used "diarrhea" to lose weight. Zhu Nianfeng, director of the Taitung Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said that diarrhea mostly causes the excretion of water, which may cause an imbalance of electrolytes in the body. It may also cause fat to pass through the intestines quickly, damaging the intestinal villi and increasing the risk of future intestinal lesions. Wang Jinkun, professor of the Department of Nutrition at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, also reminded that weight loss is not about reducing the number of body weight, but reducing the amount of fat. Although diarrhea can expel a large amount of water, it cannot expel fat from the body. In the long run, it may not be very helpful for weight loss and may even harm the body.

The correct proportion of calories provided by the three major nutrients is essential

If you want to lose weight successfully, is it really right to stay away from starch and consume plenty of fruits, vegetables and protein foods? In fact, the human body needs to consume a certain amount of calories every day to meet the needs of life. The three main nutrients that provide calories include carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and none of them can be missing. In addition, the proportion of carbohydrate intake should account for 50% to 60% of the total daily calorie intake; fat should account for about 20% to 30%; and protein should account for about 20%.

An imbalance in nutrient ratios can easily lead to weight gain

Dr. Zhu Nianfeng said that if you do not eat carbohydrate-rich starches in order to lose weight, it will cause an imbalance in the ratio of the three major nutrients, causing the body to not function normally. This is not only bad for health, but also makes weight loss failure more likely. Eating this way may show results in the short term, but once you return to a normal diet, you will easily gain weight again. Professor Wang Jinkun said that this is the so-called "yo-yo effect" and not eating starch is definitely not a long-term solution for weight loss.

You can reduce 500 calories per day and adjust the nutrient ratio appropriately

Professor Wang Jinkun also reminded that if women do not eat starchy foods, their bodies will lack substances such as glycoproteins needed by cells, which will affect the functioning of hormones and easily lead to an increase in leucorrhea. If you want to lose weight healthily, for an adult woman, you can reduce the total daily calorie intake of about 1,800 calories by 500 calories, that is, only 1,300 calories. In addition, reduce the proportion of carbohydrates to 40%, and consume 30% each of fat and protein. This is the healthy way to lose weight.

Can’t eat starch to lose weight? It is wise to choose low GI

In addition to reducing the calorie intake of staple foods, Professor Wang Jinkun said that we should also choose starches with a lower glycemic index (GI), such as whole grain rice, sweet potatoes, taro, corn and other foods, and avoid refined white rice. In this way, you can absorb starch nutrients and increase dietary fiber intake while avoiding the worry of gaining weight easily.

Don't consume too much protein. Eat 2 to 3 times more vegetables than fruits.

In addition to normal starch consumption, you should also pay attention to the intake of protein and fruits and vegetables. Professor Wang Jinkun pointed out that although the protein intake can be slightly increased during the weight loss period, the prerequisite is that the liver and kidney functions must be normal in order to metabolize the protein smoothly. Otherwise, excessive protein intake will cause a burden on the body.

In addition, since many fruits are high in sugar, you still need to control your intake and not eat them without restraint. For a daily calorie intake of 1,300 calories, it is recommended to consume 2 servings of fruit. In addition, it is best to choose fresh seasonal fruits, and the amount of vegetables you consume must be 2 to 3 times that of fruits, which is the correct way to eat them.

It is recommended that on the premise of a balanced diet, you should moderately reduce your total daily calorie intake and combine it with moderate exercise such as walking for 30 minutes a day to truly reduce body fat and lose weight beautifully and healthily!
