Qingming Festival "stuffing" trap many commercially available spring cakes = 2 bowls of rice

The Qingming Festival holiday is coming soon. In addition to tomb sweeping and remembering ancestors, eating runbing is also a unique folk culture of the Chinese. The National Health Administration reminds the public that commercially available spring rolls usually contain high levels of fat and peanut sugar powder, and recommends that the public should adhere to the principle of "less oil, less salt, less sugar, and high fiber". For example, when purchasing spring rolls from outside, the filling should be non-fried meat, and the store should be asked not to sprinkle sugar powder. At the same time, it is recommended that the public can make healthy and delicious spring rolls at home.

"Qingming" originally referred to one of the 24 solar terms in the traditional Chinese calendar. Since the time of Cold Food Festival and Qingming Festival is close, the ancients' Cold Food activities often continued to Qingming Festival. Over time, there was no difference between Cold Food Festival and Qingming Festival. Today, Cold Food Festival has been replaced by Qingming Festival, so some of the food customs of Cold Food Festival are still preserved in Qingming Festival.

There are big differences between the north and south in eating runbing during the Cold Food Festival

According to folklore, since fire cannot be made during the Cold Food Festival, people would wrap pre-prepared ingredients in cakes and eat them, which is the well-known runbing. However, the runbing in the north and south are also slightly different. The runbing in the north is usually wetter, with a smaller crust and fewer types of fillings; the runbing in the south is larger in size, even with noodles inside. This is because southerners eat runbing to "pray for a good harvest."

Chen Yanfang, head of the Community Health Group of the National Health Administration, pointed out that runbing is made of extremely thin dough as the skin, and the fillings can be freely chosen, whether meat, vegetarian, sweet or salty. It is a traditional snack commonly seen in snack stalls or restaurants. In addition, some spring rolls are specially added with oil and flour to increase the feeling of fullness.

However, one serving of commercially available runbing contains about 400 calories, and two pieces of outer skin are equivalent to 1/4 bowl of rice (one runbing skin is 15g, about 35 calories). The fillings include stir-fried vegetables (such as cabbage, bean sprouts, leeks, carrots, etc.), fried red fermented rice meat, dried tofu and egg crisps, and finally sprinkled with peanut powder and powdered sugar.

The National Health Administration recommends that people make their own healthy spring rolls by following the five key points: high fiber, blanching, no frying, less sugar, and more fruits and vegetables.

1. "Choose high-fiber crust, healthy and non-fried":

The runbing wrapper can be purchased in fiber-rich whole wheat or purple yam flavors, and should not be fried or pan-fried. In addition, two runbing wrappers are equal to a quarter of a bowl of rice, and should be replaced with the main meal.

2. "Szechuan hot pot with oil noodles, the staple food needs to be replaced":

As noodles already contain oil, it is recommended to reduce the amount of oil by blanching them and then mix the vegetables into the noodles. In addition, if a roll of runbing uses two runbing skins and half a bowl of oily noodles, the amount of staple food is equal to half a bowl of rice, and needs to be replaced with the staple food of the main meal.

3. "Don't fry the eggs and meat, Sichuan boiled white meat is the best":

Use less pork belly and fried egg crisps, which are high in saturated fat, as the fillings of runbing. Because they contain a lot of oil, excessive intake will cause high cholesterol and calories. Instead, use Sichuan blanched chicken shreds, lean pork shreds, dried tofu shreds and steamed egg skins to reduce the burden on the body.

5. "One serving of nuts is good, less sugar and more health":

Excessive sugar intake can cause obesity, metabolic abnormalities and tooth decay. The National Health Administration recommends not adding powdered sugar to spring rolls. Raisins and dried cranberries can be used to sweeten the cakes, which are natural, nutritious and more flavorful. In addition, nuts and seeds are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, fiber, magnesium and other nutrients, which have the function of protecting the heart. It is recommended to consume 1 serving of nuts and seeds (equal to 1 tablespoon of peanut powder) every day, so it is recommended that peanut powder should also be consumed in moderation and not in excess.

6. "Eat more vegetables and fruits, fresh and without burden":

Vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber, which can promote gastrointestinal motility, the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and lower blood cholesterol. Choose seasonal, colorful and fiber-rich vegetables, such as cabbage, shredded carrots, leeks, shredded mushrooms, alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts, etc. Blanch or boil the vegetables to reduce the amount of cooking oil.

In addition, seasonal fresh fruits (such as tangerines, cherry tomatoes, wax apples, bananas, guavas, apples, etc.) can replace the sweetness of powdered sugar. Not only does it taste refreshing, it allows people to enjoy delicious food while also taking control of their health.
