Remember the three principles of weight loss in the critical month after the New Year

During the Chinese New Year, people are inevitably eating a lot of meat and fish, but the hospital found that in the days after the Chinese New Year, people's weight is still rising. Nutritionists point out that the month after the Chinese New Year is the golden period for weight loss. You must remember the three principles of no snacks, drink soup before meals, and exercise regularly to get rid of the trouble of Chinese New Year weight gain.

Huang Siping, a nutritionist at Taichung Guangtian General Hospital, pointed out that many people are worried that the Lantern Festival will be approaching soon after the Chinese New Year, and that there will be a lot of snacks and desserts left at home. Therefore, they have been rushing to finish the last few days, eating the leftover snacks from the Chinese New Year and gaining a lot of weight.

People are reminded that the entire month from the New Year to the Lantern Festival is a dangerous period for weight gain. They must control their appetite and successfully metabolize excess fat through proper diet adjustments and exercise. Do not sacrifice your health for the sake of consuming snacks at home.

Nutritionist Huang Siping further pointed out that there are many people in the outpatient clinic who are generally 2 to 3 kilograms heavier than before. After detailed questioning, it was found that people have eaten at least 2,000 to 3,000 calories a day since the Chinese New Year in order to use up the leftover New Year dishes and mountains of snacks at home. But in fact, men only need to consume 1,800 calories a day and women only need to consume 1,600 calories. These excess calories are converted into fat in the body, so it is no wonder that weight increases.

In order to help people lose weight successfully in the next month, nutritionist Huang Siping specifically listed three key points:

  1. Avoid eating snacks: Snacks are high in calories and sugar, especially nuts and melon seeds that many people like to eat during the Chinese New Year. Just a small pinch of them contains nearly a teaspoon of oil. Eating too much is a burden on the body, so the first thing to do if you want to lose weight is to put all snacks aside, or eat them slowly later to reduce unnecessary calorie intake.

  2. Drink soup first and then eat rice: drink soup and eat vegetables first, then eat meat and rice: eat vegetables and drink soup first to fill your stomach when eating, and then eat rice and meat. This can reduce the intake of high-calorie food and help lose weight.

  3. Regular exercise: In addition to diet control, you still need to combine moderate exercise and follow the 333 principle (3 days a week, 30 minutes each time, heart rate up to 130 beats/minute). I believe that you will be able to metabolize the fat accumulated during this period quickly.
