To address the problem of school children eating out, the Children's Alliance launched "Healthy Eating 135"

The Children's Welfare Alliance Cultural and Educational Foundation conducted a survey and found that schoolchildren have many problems when eating out alone. They do not have a balanced diet, and some even eat randomly or do not eat at all. Therefore, they proposed the "Healthy Eating 135 Movement", calling on parents to implement the following: "1" must accompany your children, cook "3" meals a week, and eat "5" fruits and vegetables a day, so as to lay a good foundation for the health of schoolchildren from an early age.

The Children's Alliance said that schoolchildren's incorrect behavior in buying food outside also reflects the alienation of parent-child relationships. The survey showed that nearly 40% of schoolchildren eat at the same table with their parents less than three days a week. In addition, many schoolchildren admitted that when their parents are with them, they will eat the ingredients selected by their parents instead of just eating what they want to eat.

Therefore, the Children's Alliance calls on parents to start by accompanying their children. By accompanying their children to buy food outside, they can help students develop good eating habits. Eating together can also enhance the parent-child relationship.

For modern dual-income families, it is not easy for parents to cook for their children every day, but cooking occasionally is not too demanding. Children's Alliance recommends that parents can cook two meals on weekends and one breakfast on weekdays. This combination of three meals can make up for the nutrition that children lack on a daily basis.

Most schoolchildren who eat out do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. To meet the nutritional requirement of five fruits and vegetables per day, the Children's Alliance recommends that parents often buy fresh vegetables and fruits and place them at home so that children can easily access them.

Weng Huiling, a nutritionist at the National Taiwan University Hospital, said that many parents bring their children with problems such as anorexia or diabetes to see a doctor, but when asked, they find out that they don’t know what their children eat. Therefore, accompanying the children is indeed the first priority, and helping them choose food.

In addition, she pointed out that although convenience stores are convenient, children should be encouraged to go to places where they can choose their own dishes, such as buffets or noodle shops, where the nutrition is more balanced; in terms of beverages, schoolchildren are encouraged to drink 2 to 3 servings of milk a day, not only for breakfast but also after dinner. As for black tea, milk tea or other beverages containing sugar, they should not be consumed too much.
