In addition, 153 livestock products were sampled and all passed, with no evidence of the use of banned drugs. 18 livestock farm feeds were also sampled and met national standards, so the public is asked to feel safe eating meat produced in Taichung City.

Health Bureau Director Huang Meina said that the rights and interests of legal operators must be protected, illegal operators must be severely punished, and operators must be required to manage themselves. The central government must develop a set of inspection and rapid screening mechanisms so that local governments can quickly catch illegal operators. Relevant units of the municipal government will also work together to ensure that livestock products are safe for consumers when they reach the table.
