Eating smoked sausage every day can increase your risk of pancreatic cancer

However, many nutritionists and doctors have warned against these smoked products that often appear on the table. Eating too much may increase the risk of cancer in the human body. A recent Swedish study also showed that the incidence of pancreatic cancer among people who often eat these processed meats is 20% higher than expected.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Swedish researchers analyzed 11 research reports on pancreatic cancer, including 6,000 pancreatic cancer patients. They found that in addition to smoking, alcoholism and obesity, regular consumption of smoked meat products such as sausages may also be a key factor in cancer. As long as 50 grams of smoked meat is consumed regularly every day, the proportion of cancer will increase by 19%. Eating 100 grams will increase the chance by 38%, and 150 grams will even increase the chance by 57%. The results are shocking. This report was recently published in the British Journal of Cancer.

Susanna, a researcher at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. Susanne Larsson said that pancreatic cancer is a relatively serious cancer. Patients often experience unexplained back pain, loss of appetite or weight loss in the early stages. Since these symptoms are difficult to directly associate with cancer, half of the people are already in the terminal stage when they are diagnosed, and the mortality rate is extremely high. Only less than 3% of people can live for more than 5 years. According to statistics, up to 8,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the UK every year.

50 grams of processed meat is equivalent to a few slices of ham, a hot dog, a sausage or two slices of bacon, which are not only one of the staple foods for many Westerners, but also a must-have for breakfast for most Chinese people. Therefore, you may wish to refer to the advice of the British government that the amount of processed meat consumed by each person per week should not exceed 500 grams.
