Does adenomyosis cause back pain?

Will adenomyosis cause back pain?

Patients with adenomyosis may experience back pain because the impact of adenomyosis can cause the size of the uterus to increase, which can cause compression and stimulation of the lumbar sacral nerves, leading to back pain and discomfort. Some people experience aggravated back pain during menstruation, which usually requires timely treatment.

When suffering from adenomyosis, it may cause back pain, but back pain alone cannot be diagnosed as adenomyosis. If the patient only has back pain, it may not be caused by adenomyosis. If the patient's menstrual volume increases, the menstrual period is prolonged, and dysmenorrhea occurs, then it is caused by adenomyosis, because the influence of adenomyosis at this time will cause the uterine volume to increase. The increase will cause compression and stimulation of the lumbosacral nerves, causing back pain and discomfort, and the patient's back pain may also increase during menstruation.

Many people don't know much about adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is a common gynecological disease. This disease is caused by health reasons, but because endometriosis spreads to the myometrium, this disease can cause menstrual abnormalities. The most serious impact is that it can cause female infertility symptoms. This symptom should be treated in time.

The usual method of treating adenomyosis is drug therapy. When the condition is not very serious, it can usually be treated with drugs. If the condition is relatively mild but there is no fertility requirement or menopausal patients, contraceptive drugs can be taken for treatment. For menstruation, dysmenorrhea, and no fertility requirements, an IUD containing highly effective progesterone can be selected for treatment. For women over 45 years old who do not have fertility requirements, if adenomyosis is particularly serious, direct surgical treatment such as hysterectomy can be considered. Different patients should choose a treatment method that suits them.
