What are the sequelae of adenomyosis?

1. After interventional treatment of adenomyosis, as long as the postoperative recovery is good, generally no sequelae will occur. Adenomyosis is a benign disease caused by the invasion of the endometrium into the myometrium.

2. Clinically, the main manifestations are dysmenorrhea, increased menstrual volume, and uterine enlargement. Accompanied by diffuse hyperplasia of the uterine myometrium, it was called internal endometriosis in the past. The reason is that the basal layer of the endometrium directly extends to the muscle layer, not due to implantation or metaplasia. The general drug treatment effect of this disease is not good. For patients over 35 years old, who have given birth or are in serious condition, surgical removal of the uterus is the most effective and most commonly used treatment method.

3. Women insist on not having or having less artificial abortions. Due to negative pressure suction, if the surgical pressure and the use method are improper, it will also cause blood to flow into the abdominal cavity, leading to endometriosis implantation. Reproductive tract malformations such as extremely curved uterus or narrow cervix and vagina, congenital uterus without vagina, and cervical adhesions can lead to poor or impossible menstrual blood discharge. Menstrual blood reflux causes endometriosis. The above diseases should be actively treated to prevent the occurrence of endometriosis.

4. In terms of diet, some dysmenorrhea patients have heavy menstruation. Eating spicy, warm, and irritating foods will aggravate pelvic congestion, inflammation, or excessive contraction of uterine muscles, aggravating dysmenorrhea. Patients with dysmenorrhea should try to eat less or no chili peppers, pepper, garlic, onions, ginger, leeks, chicken soup, durian, and spicy condiments.
