Does mild cervical erosion need treatment?

Does mild cervical erosion need treatment?

1. Cervical erosion refers to cervical columnar epithelial ectopia. Whether mild cervical columnar epithelial ectopia needs treatment needs to be judged based on the actual situation. If the patient has no clinical symptoms, treatment is generally not required. If the patient has discomfort symptoms, treatment is usually required.

2. Mild cervical columnar epithelial ectopia is more common in adolescent women of childbearing age with vigorous estrogen secretion, usually affected by hormones. When the estrogen level in the body is high, it will cause the columnar epithelium to expand outward and occupy part of the cervical vagina. Because the columnar epithelium is relatively thin, the capillaries in the lower stroma will be faintly visible, appearing red and looking like erosion.

3. Generally, mild columnar epithelial ectopia is a normal physiological phenomenon. It changes with the changes in estrogen levels in the body. If there are no obvious clinical symptoms, it generally does not require treatment. However, if the patient is infected or stimulated, it is easy to develop symptoms of cervicitis, abnormal leucorrhea, abnormal vaginal bleeding, etc. At this time, treatment is required. It can be treated with drugs such as minocycline hydrochloride capsules, azithromycin dispersible tablets, and roxithromycin capsules under the guidance of a doctor.

4. In daily life, we should pay attention to regular work and rest, develop good personal hygiene habits, change underwear frequently to reduce bacterial growth, avoid underwater activities in public swimming pools, hot spring pools and other places to avoid infection.
