Causes of abnormal leucorrhea:

Physiological leucorrhea is the secretion of female genitals under the action of appropriate endogenous or exogenous estrogen, including:

① A small amount of colorless and transparent mucus secreted by the vestibular glands on both sides of the vulva is used to keep the vestibular mucosa moist. Sexual excitement can promote the increase of mucus secretion.

②A small amount of secretions from the vulvar sweat glands and sebaceous glands.

③ Vaginal mucosal secretions are mixed with scattered vaginal squamous epithelial cells and various aerobic and anaerobic bacteria that normally parasitize the vagina, mainly vaginal bacilli. Since vaginal epithelial cells are rich in glycogen, vaginal bacilli can convert glycogen into lactic acid, which can increase significantly during sexual excitement.

④ The alkaline egg white-like highly viscous liquid secreted by the endocervical glands is mixed with a small amount of endocervical columnar epithelial cells.

⑤ A small amount of alkaline liquid secreted by the endometrium in the late luteal phase. Physiological leucorrhea is white and paste-like, highly viscous, odorless, and small in quantity. It usually only accumulates in the posterior vault of the vagina, but its amount and characteristics may change with the age of women and changes in ovarian hormone secretion.
