What is the best medication for vulvar itching?

There are completely different reasons for vulvar itching, and the drugs used are also different. We will describe the most common causes:

1. Vulvovaginal candidiasis: This condition is characterized by severe vulvar itching, accompanied by dreg-like leucorrhea and some features of recurrent attacks. It can be so severe that the patient is restless and even has trouble sleeping. It requires topical application of antifungal drugs, such as Daconil and Canesten, i.e., clotrimazole tablets. If the disease recurs, oral antifungal drugs should be taken.

2. Vulvar dystrophy: This is a disease that has long plagued women. It is more likely to occur in older people, and the cause has not yet been fully clarified. In terms of treatment, the first thing to do is to stop itching. Topical use of some diphenhydramine cream, vitamin A cream, vitamin E cream, etc., have a certain effect. Some doctors have also used local microwave irradiation, etc., which have also achieved certain results, but there is currently no cure;

3. Trichomonas vaginitis: Itching is not very obvious, accompanied by leucorrhea with a strange smell or yellow leucorrhea. It is usually transmitted through sexual intercourse. Once diagnosed with trichomoniasis vaginitis, metronidazole can be applied topically and tinidazole can be taken orally, and the spouse needs to be treated at the same time;

4. Vulvar neurodermatitis: It is not particularly common, and is manifested by local skin thickening, coarsening, and itching. Some creams containing hormones can be used to relieve the symptoms, but drugs containing hormones cannot be used for a long time and can only be used for one month. Other methods, such as surgery, require treatment by professional doctors, generally in dermatology.
