The treatment for this type of women with irregular menstruation should be to regulate Qi and activate blood circulation.

5. Irregular menstruation in women belongs to the type of liver depression transforming into heat. The symptoms include irregular menstruation, blocked meridians, distension and pain in the chest and lower abdomen, chest tightness, irritability or sighing, infrequent hiccups, red and purple menstrual blood, red tip of the tongue, bitter taste in the mouth and dry throat, and thin yellow tongue coating.
