Can early pregnancy test strips detect ectopic pregnancy? Ultrasound examination is the most accurate and reliable

For pregnant women, they should not only be alert to the invasion of various diseases during pregnancy, but also be alert to ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy requires everyone to actively prevent it. Once it happens, it will cause great harm to the female body. In severe cases, the woman may lose the ability to bear children. If the treatment is not timely, miscarriage and rupture will occur, which will pose a huge threat to the life of the pregnant woman. So, can the early pregnancy test paper detect ectopic pregnancy?

There are many ways to check for ectopic pregnancy clinically, among which B-ultrasound is the most accurate and reliable method to confirm ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy cannot be detected by early pregnancy test paper. Early pregnancy test paper can only detect pregnancy, but cannot detect whether there is ectopic pregnancy.
Women in early pregnancy should go to the hospital for B-ultrasound examination to exclude ectopic pregnancy as early as 5 weeks of pregnancy. If you experience abnormal symptoms of ectopic pregnancy such as lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, sudden fainting, shock, etc. in early pregnancy, you should see a doctor immediately to check the cause. If an ectopic pregnancy ruptures, there will be tearing pain on one side of the lower abdomen, and there may be heavy vaginal bleeding. The situation is very critical and should not be ignored.
The serum P level of ectopic pregnancy is low, but it is relatively stable at 5 to 10 weeks of pregnancy, and a single measurement has a greater diagnostic value. Although there is overlap between normal and abnormal pregnancy serum P levels, it is difficult to determine the absolute critical value between them, but serum P levels below 10ng/m1 (radioimmunoassay) often indicate abnormal pregnancy, and its accuracy rate is about 90%.
B-ultrasound examination can clearly see the position, size, and shape of the gestational sac, and can also check the embryo and fetal heart rate. It can determine whether it is a single-fetal pregnancy or a multiple-fetal pregnancy, understand whether it is a normal intrauterine pregnancy, and rule out the possibility of abnormal pregnancy. It is currently the most accurate and reliable way to diagnose ectopic pregnancy.
In addition, although HCG measurement is an important method for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, it cannot confirm whether it is an ectopic pregnancy. In ectopic pregnancy, the HCG content in the blood will be lower than that in normal pregnancy, but it can only determine the possibility, not the actual diagnosis.
