What are the treatments for vaginitis? What are the causes of vaginitis?

Vaginitis is a disease that should be familiar to female friends. This disease is very common in our lives and also brings certain impacts to everyone. Vaginitis is prone to recurrence, and treatment should strive to completely cure it. So what are the treatments for vaginitis?

reason

Bacterial vaginosis

Lactobacilli that produce hydrogen peroxide dominate the normal vagina. When bacterial vaginosis occurs, endogenous mixed infection is caused by a decrease in vaginal lactobacilli and an increase in Gardnerella and anaerobic bacteria.

Candidal vaginitis

80%~90% of the pathogens are Candida albicans, which grow easily in an acidic environment and are biphasic (yeast phase and hyphae phase).

Vaginal pH is 4.0~4.7, pH<4.5.

Conditionally pathogenic bacteria (yeast phase → mycelium phase).

Common causes: pregnancy, diabetes, heavy use of immunosuppressants and broad-spectrum antibiotics.

Other causes: Candida albicans in the digestive tract, wearing tight synthetic underwear, obesity.

Trichomonas vaginitis

Trichomonas vaginalis grows best in a humid environment with a temperature of 25°C to 40°C and a pH of 5.2 to 6.6.

The pH value of the vagina changes before and after menstruation, and it is close to neutral after menstruation, making it easy for Trichomonas to reproduce.

The vaginal pH of patients is generally 5.0~6.5, and the pH of most patients is >6.0.

It parasitizes in the vagina, urethra or paraurethral glands, bladder, renal pelvis, male foreskin folds, urethra, and prostate.

It often coexists with other vaginitis.

Senile vaginitis

In postmenopausal women, due to decreased ovarian function, lower estrogen levels, vaginal wall atrophy, thinning of the mucosa, increased vaginal pH, and decreased local resistance, other pathogens may multiply excessively or easily invade and cause inflammation, mainly aerobic bacteria.

Vaginitis in young women

Due to the poor development of the vulva, low estrogen levels and irritation and infection caused by foreign bodies in the vagina in infants and young children, common pathogens include Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, etc.

What are the treatments for female vaginitis? Common treatments for female vaginitis are as follows:

1. General treatment

The general treatment is to improve the condition through lifestyle adjustments. Women with vaginitis should pay attention to personal hygiene, actively seek treatment and rest in their daily lives. They should also have a reasonable diet and try to avoid irritating foods. Underwear should be changed frequently and not washed with other clothes to prevent cross infection.

2. pH adjustment

Acid-base imbalance can lead to vaginitis. Therefore, if you have vaginitis, you should pay attention to the balance of pH. You can use alkaline cleaning liquid to clean the vulva, adjust the pH in the vagina appropriately, and inhibit the reproduction and growth of mold. However, after washing, keep the vulva dry as soon as possible to prevent the growth of Candida. But you must choose the cleaning liquid under the guidance of a doctor!

3. Drug therapy

There are many types of vaginitis. Different drugs should be selected for treatment of different types of vaginitis. This can achieve the best treatment effect and will not cause major side effects to patients. Be sure to follow the doctor's instructions and take the medication reasonably and consistently to recover health quickly.

4. The couple did not receive treatment at the same time

Although vaginitis is a gynecological disease for women, it is important to treat both husband and wife at the same time. After suffering from vaginitis, the pathogen can be transmitted to the husband through sexual intercourse, making the husband also a carrier. About 10% of men may develop balanoposthitis. If only the woman is treated and the man is not, then even if the woman is cured, she will be reinfected by the husband, causing the Candida to be repeatedly "transmitted" between the couple, and the woman's vaginitis will recur.
