What are the six symptoms of irregular menstruation?

Menstruation is a special physiological period for women. Irregular menstruation not only affects women's health, but can also lead to infertility in severe cases. Irregular menstruation is a common problem for almost all female friends. Therefore, if you want to treat irregular menstruation, you must first understand it. Let's take a look at the six major symptoms of irregular menstruation.

6 symptoms of irregular menstruation

1. Abnormal menstrual blood

Normal blood is dark red, mixed with small pieces of shed endometrial lining, cervical mucus, vaginal epithelial cells, and no blood clots. If the menstrual blood is as thin as water, with only a little pink or black and purple, it is abnormal. If the menstrual blood is completely clotted, it is also abnormal, and there may be other bleeding sites. You should see a doctor as soon as possible to ensure your health.

2. Early menstruation

Early menstruation refers to a shortened menstrual cycle, shorter than 21 days, and more than 2 consecutive cycles. The follicular phase is short, only 7-8 days, or the luteal phase is shorter than 10 days, or the body temperature rises by less than 0.5℃.

3. Mid-menstrual bleeding

The menstrual blood that women experience during their menstrual period or the bleeding during childbirth are considered normal bleeding. Any bleeding other than these two situations is considered abnormal vaginal bleeding.

4. Small amount of menstruation

The amount of menstrual blood varies from woman to woman, but is generally 20 to 100 ml. Generally, changing sanitary napkins 3 to 5 times a day is considered normal. If the amount of menstrual blood is too much, the sanitary napkin will soon become soaked after changing it, or even the blood will flow down the legs, this is abnormal. If the amount of menstrual blood is less than 20 ml, only a small amount or even no sanitary napkin is needed, and the menstrual blood is dark purple or pink, it is also abnormal.

5. Delayed menstruation

The menstrual period lasts for more than 7 days, or even 40 to 50 days, and there are more than two consecutive menstrual cycles. If there is ovulation, the basal body temperature is biphasic, but the follicular phase is long and the high temperature phase is low; if there is no ovulation, the basal body temperature is monophasic.

6. Prolonged menstrual period

Women's menstrual period is about 2 to 5 days. The general rule of menstruation is that there is not much menstrual blood on the first day, and it increases on the second and third days, and then gradually decreases until the menstrual blood is gone. This is because the endometrium has just begun to shed on the first day, and the endometrium sheds more on the second and third days, and the amount of bleeding also increases. The uterus is stimulated and strengthens its contraction, expelling a large amount of menstrual blood. Some people have a little menstrual blood again after one or two days after the menstrual blood is gone, commonly known as "menstrual blood comes back", which is not a disease, but a normal phenomenon.

However, some women have menstrual periods that last for 10 to 20 days, and some women have very short menstrual periods that are just a flash. Both of these phenomena are abnormal.
