What medicine is good for ectopic pregnancy

What medicine is good for ectopic pregnancy? Ectopic pregnancy is a very serious gynecological and obstetric disease, which is one of the acute abdominal diseases. If the mother with ectopic pregnancy is not actively treated, many complications will occur, and in severe cases, shock and death will occur. Many people want to know what medicine is better in the treatment of ectopic pregnancy? The following is a detailed introduction for everyone.

If the ectopic pregnancy can be diagnosed in the early stage, that is, before the fallopian tube ruptures, and the patient has no fertility requirements, drug therapy is the best choice, which is less harmful to the patient and easy for the body to recover. However, it cannot be used for those who have fertility requirements, because the killed embryo polarizes in situ, often causing the fallopian tube to be blocked.

1. Methotrexate: It is the clinical first choice drug. Methotrexate is a cell cycle-specific drug that can prevent the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine, interfere with DNA synthesis and cell multiplication, and thus inhibit the growth and reproduction of trophoblastic cells. It has become the first choice drug for the treatment of ectopic pregnancy because of its advantages such as little damage to the ovaries, convenient administration and low cost.

2. Fluorouracil: Fluorouracil is an antimetabolite anti-tumor drug that inhibits the growth of trophoblastic cells by affecting DNA synthesis, causing trophoblastic cell death. During pregnancy, trophoblastic cells are in a proliferative state and are more sensitive to 5-FU. 5-FU has a definite embryo-killing effect and has no destructive effect on fallopian tube tissue. The fallopian tube remains unobstructed after the lesion is absorbed.

3. Mifepristone: Mifepristone is a progesterone antagonist. It binds to the progesterone receptor, blocks the physiological activity of progesterone, causes the basal decidua to lose the support of progesterone and undergo degeneration and necrosis, inhibits the proliferation of villi, induces and promotes their apoptosis, and promotes the hydrolysis of the extracellular matrix. This drug is only used for combined treatment with MTX or for patients with slightly elevated blood β-HCG.

4. Potassium chloride or hypertonic sugar solution: Some people believe that injecting 15% potassium chloride solution or 50% hypertonic sugar solution after puncturing and aspirating the villous tissue in the fallopian tube pregnancy mass under B-ultrasound can also be used to treat ectopic pregnancy. However, this method is rarely used now.

It is worth noting that before the above drug treatment, the doctor must inform the patient in detail of the risks, advantages, side effects and possibility of drug treatment failure, and the possibility of tubal pregnancy rupture requiring surgery. During drug treatment, the patient's blood pressure, pulse, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, etc. must be closely observed. If acute abdominal pain or hemodynamic instability occurs, surgery is recommended.
