Do you know what pelvic inflammatory disease is?

The emergence of gynecological diseases has disrupted the lives of thousands of women and brought endless psychological pressure to them. Pelvic inflammatory disease is one of them. There are many causes of this disease, but in real life, not all women will suffer from pelvic inflammatory disease, only a few will develop the disease. Why is this? Do you know what pelvic inflammatory disease is? Let me give you a detailed introduction below.

As the name suggests, pelvic inflammatory disease is an inflammation of the pelvic cavity, which refers to the inflammation of the female pelvic reproductive organs, the connective tissue around the uterus and the pelvic peritoneum. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is often caused by incomplete treatment of the acute phase. It takes a long time to develop and is more stubborn. Bacteria retrogradely infect the pelvis through the uterus and fallopian tubes.

The female reproductive system has a natural defense function. Under normal circumstances, it can resist the invasion of bacteria. Only when the body's resistance is reduced or the natural defense function of women is destroyed due to other reasons, will pelvic inflammatory disease occur. This is why pelvic inflammatory disease occurs only in a few cases.

There are two types of pelvic inflammation: acute and chronic. The symptoms of acute pelvic inflammation are lower abdominal pain, fever, increased vaginal discharge, and persistent abdominal pain that worsens after activity or sexual intercourse. If the condition is severe, there may be chills, high fever, headache, and loss of appetite. Patients with menstruation may experience increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation. Chronic pelvic inflammation is caused by the failure to completely treat acute pelvic inflammation or the poor physical condition of the patient, resulting in a prolonged course of the disease. The symptoms of chronic pelvic inflammation are lower abdominal distension, pain, and lumbar pain, which are often aggravated by fatigue, after sexual intercourse, and before and after menstruation.

If you do not pay attention to menstrual hygiene, use unclean sanitary napkins and panty liners, take a bath during menstruation, have sexual intercourse during menstruation, etc., pathogens may invade and cause pelvic inflammatory disease. Therefore, we remind all female friends to pay attention to hygiene in daily life, do more exercise to improve their own resistance, so as to stay away from the invasion of diseases.
