Clinical nursing of hyperprolactinemia

Clinical nursing of hyperprolactinemia

Hyperprolactinemia, also known as hyperprolactinemia, is a syndrome of reproductive endocrine disorders of the hypothalamus-pituitary axis caused by various reasons, characterized by elevated serum prolactin and related clinical manifestations. It is a common clinical disease that can affect the reproductive, endocrine and nervous systems. How should we take care of it in daily life?

Causes of Hyperprolactinemia:

1. Pituitary tumor: People with high prolactin levels all have pituitary tumors. This tumor can inhibit the secretion of gonadotropin in the pituitary gland, affect the synthesis of sex hormones in the female ovaries, and cause a significant decrease in the level of estrogen in female serum, causing ovarian dysfunction and reduced ovulation.

2. Drug factors: Long-term use of sedatives for the central nervous system may also lead to excessive prolactin in women. The more common drugs are morphine or sleeping pills, which can significantly reduce the content of catecholamines in the hypothalamus of women, causing the activity of prolactin-releasing factors produced by the hypothalamus to decrease. Therefore, it will lead to excessive secretion of prolactin.
