What are the factors for recurrence of pelvic peritonitis?

Pelvic peritonitis refers to inflammation of the female upper reproductive tract and its surrounding tissues, mainly including endometritis, salpingitis, tubo-ovarian abscess, and pelvic peritonitis. Inflammation can be confined to one site or involve several sites at the same time. The most common are salpingitis and tubo-oophoritis. It is better to use Qingyan Fufang. Pelvic peritonitis often occurs in women who are sexually active and menstruating. Pelvic peritonitis rarely occurs before menarche, after menopause or unmarried people. If pelvic peritonitis occurs, it is often the spread of inflammation in adjacent organs.

1. Sexual activity and number of sexual partners

Most cases of pelvic peritonitis are caused by sexual activity or sexual violence. The infection has little to do with the frequency of sexual intercourse, but is closely related to the number of sexual partners. The incidence rate of women with multiple sexual partners is 5 times that of those without such relationships.

2. Postpartum or post-abortion infection

The mother is weak after giving birth and her cervix has not yet closed. If the delivery causes damage or if she has sexual intercourse, pathogens can enter the uterine cavity and easily cause infection, leading to acute pelvic peritonitis.

3. Intrauterine contraceptive device

General reports show that the incidence rate of those who use intrauterine contraceptive devices is 2 to 4 times higher than that of those who do not use them, or even higher. Of course, it is also related to the type of contraceptive device.

4. Sexual partners are not treated

The main source of infection and recurrence for women is men who carry the germs. If you want to stay away from these diseases, you should have regular gynecological examinations and have your sexual partners do the same. This protects both others and yourself.

5. Poor menstrual hygiene

During menstruation, the endometrium is shed and there are expanded blood clots, which are good conditions for the growth of bacteria. If unclean sanitary napkins are used, sexual intercourse during menstruation, etc., pelvic peritonitis can be caused. After childbirth or abortion, due to physical weakness, the cervix has not closed well, or the bleeding time is long, and tissue remains; not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation, using unclean menstrual pads, and having sex during menstruation, etc., pathogens can invade and cause infection.
