Are cervical warts sexually transmitted?

Everyone knows that cervical warts are a sexually transmitted disease, and the biggest characteristic of sexually transmitted diseases is that they are contagious. Therefore, it is beyond doubt that cervical warts are contagious. Its main transmission route is sexual transmission, but sexual transmission is not the only route. The following will show you how cervical warts are transmitted and how to strengthen your own protective measures.

There are many ways that cervical warts are transmitted, and people should be aware of them:

1. Direct sexual contact transmission: Experts point out that direct transmission is the main transmission route of cervical warts. According to research, about 2/3 of patients in China have a history of sexual contact with patients with cervical warts. The disease is highly contagious during an average of 3.5 months. Therefore, people with promiscuous sex are very likely to be infected with cervical warts.

2. Indirect contact transmission: HPV virus in cervical warts can be transmitted through moist daily necessities such as underwear, bathtubs, bath towels, bedpans, etc. Scratching the private parts with the patient's fingers containing bacteria or using contaminated towels to scrub the vulva can also cause the spread of cervical warts. In addition, if the patient does not pay attention to the hygiene of the private parts or does not wash his hands before going to the toilet, it can also cause people to contract cervical warts.

3. Vertical transmission from mother to child: The vast majority of cervical warts in infants and children are caused by fetuses passing through the birth canal infected with HPV virus during delivery or by close contact with mothers with cervical warts after birth. Most venereal disease experts believe that infants and children are very likely to be infected with cervical warts during delivery, and HPV virus can be directly transmitted to the fetus through the birth canal of pregnant women.
